Esperienza dedicata alla scoperta di un territorio fortemente vocato alla produzione di vino che affonda radici secolari e che ha visto e vede tutt’oggi impegnati migliai di lavoratori specializzati nel settore enologico. Esperienza consigliata ad appassionati di vino e a chi vuole ritrovare le radici della propria famiglia intrecciate a quelle delle viti di queste colline.
Il moscato è il simbolo di Canelli e lo sono anche i luoghi dove l’Asti Spumante viene realizzato. Riconosciute Patrimonio Unesco nel 2014, le Cattedrali Sotterranee si sviluppano sotto le case del centro storico formando un suggestivo insieme di ampie sale con soffitti a volta, tunnel e gallerie scavato direttamente nel tufo calcareo delle colline tra il XVI ed il XIX secolo dove vengono affinate milioni di bottiglie di vino, principalmente di spumante, ma dove trovano riposo anche numerose botti di legno.
Luoghi magici in cui si respira davvero la storia del Piemonte e l’amore per la terra e per i suoi vini che devono il loro nome all’atmosfera ricca di silenzio contemplativo che richiama appunto quello delle cattedrali religiose, interrotto solamente dal suono del rumuage delle bottiglie ancora effettuato manualmente.
Le Cattedrali Sotterranee di Canelli fanno capo a quattro blasonate case vinicole: Bosca, Contratto, Gancia e Coppo.
Nizza Monferrato e i suoi comuni limitrofi sono invece aree in cui la Barbera regna sovrana indiscussa, qualità ulteriormente valorizzata dal riconoscimento DOCG. La visita di una delle più antiche cantine del territorio ti farà scoprire un mondo in cui il presente è fortemente legato al sapere del passato, tradizioni che non si dimenticano e che sono parte integrante della vita quotidiana di chi abita questi luoghi. L’annesso Museo delle Contadinerie è un autentico baluardo in difesa della cultura rurale del Piemonte.

Meeting at Canelli, a town in the Monferrato Asti area, the capital of sparkling wine, which boasts the Orange Flag recognition of the Touring Club. You will visit one of the four Underground Wine Cathedrals, unique cellars in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. The visit to the winery ends with a tasting to appreciate in every sip the love and dedication for the production of wine in this area.
Lunch at a typical restaurant in the center of Nizza Monferrato, the second most important city in the area, the undisputed protagonist in the cultivation of the Barbera vine. Nizza DOCG is the most prestigious type of wine in this area and the vineyards, cultivated in the best positions, best express the potential of the Barbera grape.
Visit to the historic winery of Nizza Monferrato where you will not only be enchanted by the production cellars and the imposing barrel cellar but you will be able to walk through an open-air peasant museum.
The Peasants’ Museum attached to the winery is an amazing immersion in the daily and material history of those who lived wine and the countryside. It is one of the largest Italian museums of its kind and houses majestic presses, work wagons, tractors, an steam locomotive from 1898 and a very rich collection of equipment for working in the countryside and in the vineyards. You’ll feel like you’re traveling through time.
