Monticello d’Alba is twinned with an Argentine municipality (Sastre-Ortiz).
The event is an opportunity to remember the over thirty years of association and the emigration from Piedmont and Monticello to Argentina.
Emigration to South America was the most significant in terms of flows, especially for Piedmontese hilly and foothill areas.
The Roero, of which Monticello d’Alba is an integral part, has written important pages of peasant emigration, especially in the second half of the nineteenth century.
