Biella, the historic textile district of Piedmont, is the starting point of this itinerary.
After visiting the city and discovering important sites of industrial archaeology, you will stop at the Ricetto di Candelo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, dating back to the fourteenth century.
From here, you will discover your Biellese origins, or rather, Masserano, in the territory known as the Red Shores, a hilly area so called for the characteristic red color of the soil.
An ideal place for viticulture, whose products you will appreciate with a tasting in a special cellar!
The itinerary will end with a visit to the Masseranese Museum Center, which includes 4 sites, including the splendid Palazzo dei Principi.

Biella, discovering the city center
The experience will start from Biella, a historic textile district in Piedmont, which has become a Unesco Creative City since 2019.
The visit to the city will start from the Museum of the Biellese Territory, located in the Cloister of San Sebastiano, which houses an archaeological section and a historical-artistic section of particular value, in which each work on display expresses a strong link with the territory.
After lunch in a restaurant, a tour guide will welcome you to discover the city center together, guiding you to the main points of interest in Biella Piano, including the Duomo, dedicated to Santo Stefano, and the Baptistery, symbol of the city.
Thanks to the characteristic Funicular, the tour will continue in Biella Piazzo, the medieval heart of the city, characterized by cobbled streets, historic buildings, and large arcades.
The day will end with a visit to Palazzo Lamarmora, one of the most important historic buildings in the Piazzo, which with its 8 centuries of history, preserves an extraordinary heritage.

Biella, Candelo and the Red Banks

The first morning will be dedicated to a shopping walk through the streets of the center, or at the outlet of the historic Lanificio Cerruti 1881.
In the late morning, you will reach Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto for a guided tour of the foundation’s museum, located in the former Trombetta wool mill, a splendid example of industrial archaeology, where the most important works of Michelangelo Pistoletto, an internationally renowned artist, are preserved.

Candelo
In the early afternoon, transfer to Candelo for a guided tour of the famous Ricetto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, dating back to the fourteenth century.
After a fascinating walk through the streets of the village, the itinerary will continue in the direction of the Red Banks.

Lessona
Arrival in Lessona, a town famous for its wine production.
To welcome you, a famous local winery, of which you can also visit the vineyard, and savor its products with a special tasting!

Masserano
I arrive in Masserano, a village in the area known as the Red Banks which, as a Papal Fiefdom, became a small independent state in medieval times.
An interesting genealogical research laboratory awaits you to be carried out at the town’s municipal archive , one of the best preserved in the province of Biella.
After lunch in a typical restaurant, a guide will lead you to discover the Masseranese Museum Complex, consisting of the Royal Palace of the Ferrero-Fieschi Princes, and the churches of San Teonesto, Santo Spirito and Collegiata.
