The experience
On the evening of October 12, 1848, in Pinerolo, a shoemaker, a gilder, four carpenters, two tailors, a master builder, a decorator and a mechanic met in the inn of the White Horse to establish the first Italian Mutual Aid Society. Their story is certainly similar to that of the many men and women who left for other countries and who were often accompanied on their journey and in their new life by the solidarity of Mutual Aid. Entering the Museum – now housed nIn the building purchased at the end of the nineteenth century by the General Association of Workers of Pinerolo to carry out its social activities – you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere and stories of those times, of those men and women. Starting and ending the meeting with a squeeze symbol par excellence of Mutual Aid and solidarity.
