What is the Neapolitan Song? What genre can it be ascribed to? Is it popular music, cultured music (such as the German “lied” or the French “chanson”), songwriting, sacred song, opera arias, “posteggia”, “fronna ‘e limone”, canzone a spite, canto a dispensa, macchietta, canzone di giacca, canzone di lavoro…?
Embracing a time span of about 400 years (talking about music, mythology, history, art) the Trio Leucosia is committed to trying to answer this question, in the hope that more and more people will ask themselves: But what, really, is the Neapolitan Song?

Leukosia Trio:

Valerio Iaccio – vocals, mandolin
Antonello Labanca – guitar
Gerardo Vitale – viola
