Roots tourism has experienced increasing popularity in recent years. More and more people want to discover the places of origin of their ancestors and retrace their stories.
Roots tourism offers both the opportunity to learn more about one’s family history and to get in touch with the culture and traditions of the country of origin.
Piedmont is a particularly interesting region for this tourism, thanks to its millenary history, to having been a crossroads of peoples and cultures, of which it preserves numerous testimonies, to its strategic position in the heart of Europe.
Italea Piemonte and FIAVET Piemonte have signed an agreement for the promotion of roots tourism in Piedmont.
The agreement provides for a series of joint initiatives, including the training of travel agents specialized in this sector and the creation of dedicated tourist packages.
FIAVET (Italian Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations) is a trade association representing Italian travel and tourism agencies.
Founded in 1961, FIAVET now has over 12,000 member companies. The association is committed to protecting the interests of travel agencies and promoting the development of the Italian tourism sector.
