The promotional initiatives of Italea Piemonte in collaboration with ANCI Piemonte continue successfully. After the meeting in Biella on 4 February, a new appointment was held on Saturday 5 April in Cavour at the Giovanni Giolitti hall at the abbey of Santa Maria and the Archaeological Museum of Caburrum, as part of the “Giovani in Comune!” project.

The event saw the participation of numerous municipalities in the Piedmont area (Vigone, Airasca, Campiglione Fenile, Cavour, Cercenasco, Garzigliana, Luserna San Giovanni, Lusernetta, Macello, Osasco, Prarostino, Rorà, Scalenghe, Torre Pellice, Villafranca Piemonte, Volvera) and representatives of ALI Piemonte, UNCEM Piemonte, ANPCI and ANCI Piemonte.

The young local administrators discussed the theme of “Promotion of the territory”, led by the interventions of Giada Armando of ATL Turismo Torino and Samuel Piana of Italea Piemonte.

Giada Armando illustrated the activities of the ATL and conducted a practical workshop on the mapping and promotion of territorial excellence. Samuel Piana presented the Italea project, describing the main actions and how municipalities can join, with a particular focus on genealogical and reception services dedicated to the roots tourist, and on Italea Card, designed to offer advantages and facilitations.

The meeting aroused great interest among the young administrators, who, thanks to the workshop, began to outline territorial promotion strategies capable of intercepting the new and promising segmentof Roots Tourism. This new approach is an important opportunity to enhance the cultural and historical heritage of Piedmont, attract motivated and conscious tourism, and strengthen the link between local communities and their descendants around the world.
