Pettinengo (Bi), museums in celebration to discover the origins

Two days of unmissable events and appointments on the theme of “roots”. On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August, the synergy developed by the Sardinian club “Su Nuraghe” to celebrate the year of Italian Roots in the world.

On Saturday 3 August at 09:30 there will be the conference “A sonu de trunfa, al suono della ribeba, al suono dello scacciapensieri”. The meeting, with free admission, will take place in Canton Gurgo, in via Duca D’Aosta, in the church dedicated to San Grato d’Aosta and Sant’Eusebio da Cagliari, a jewel of Piedmontese Baroque. restored by the Sardinian Club of Biella and donated to the community in collaboration with the associations of Pettinengo.

The conference will also be an opportunity to present the articulated program of promotion of Italy abroad and the key role that Italians play in maintaining and enhancing traditions, called “italea”. The The brand wanted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation enhances the so-called Roots tourism: a very special form of tourist hospitality capable of nurturing the connections between Italy and the states that have welcomed our compatriots. According to some recent statistics: currently there are about 80 million Italians in the world and about 5.8% (equal to almost 5 million) are Piedmontese. The project is financed through the call of the same name as part of the PNRR funds.

Among the speakers at the conference, Marco Zaccarelli and Samuel Piana, The Italea project for the promotion of roots tourism. In the afternoon, at 16:00, in the courtyard of the Museum of Migrations, it will be possible to watch free of charge the construction of Biellese ribebeproduced by Luca Boggio, from Crocemosso. At the same time, inside the Museum, it will be possible to visit the new installations of harps from all over the world, an exhibition curated by Alessandro Zolt and Guido Antoniotti.

During the party, “su cumbidu”, welcome refreshments, consisting of specialties, including “su caffè a sa sarda”, flavored with lemon zest, made available by Gian Mario Sechi, will be served.

At 17:00, at the headquarters of the Museum of the Little Fairy Childhood and the Museum of the Sacredness of Water, workshops of “museum cataloguing” and “production of terracotta holy water sanctions” will be activated.

From 7:30 pm, dinner in Piazza San Rocco curated by Arci (Italian Cultural Recreational Association).

At 9:00 pm, free concert with the Tribeba “A sonu de trunfa / al suono della ribeba” – traditional music for harps with Alessandro Zolt, Guido Antoniotti, Massimo Losito and the launeddas of Nicola Diana.

The initiative continues on Sunday 4 August:

10:00 a.m., walk on the “Path of the Weavers”, to discover the roots of our territory.

4:30 p.m., Oratory of San Rocco: for the “Sounds in motion” review, concert “Italian nuances”. Gianluca Faragli piano, Oliviero Cappellini voice.

2:30 pm – 6:30 pm, free guided tour of the three museums.

The initiatives are sponsored by the Municipality of Pettinengo, on a project approved by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU.
They take place in synergy with the Parish of Pettinengo and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ItaleaPiemonte and the support of the Territorial Center for Volunteering (ETS) of Biella.
